A little while ago, Twitter announced that they will be releasing Twitter HoverCards. Yesterday, it went live! For those of you who are curious, here’s an example of a hovercard from hovering over @natasha’s twitter handle:
Twitter has been making changes to keep up with the very lingo that has been created around the microblogging service. The word “tweet” was already introduced into the user interface by the tweet-count changing from Updates to Tweets.
Recently, YouTube have made it much easier for users to find friends through Facebook, Yahoo!, and Gmail (which has been possible for a while.) Now, they’re taking on Twitter with a new hashtag attempt. The hashtag is #SubSaturday, short for Subscription Saturday, and it will encourage people to recommend others for subscription the same way #FollowFriday recommends friends for following on Fridays.

Apparently, there’s a glitch going on on Twitter where everyone’s tweet count has gone up ridiculously! I just recently tweeted that I had tweeted my eight-thousandth tweet, and my tweet count is now 24,117:
Over the next short while, Twitter will be rolling out a new feature called HoverCards. It’s going to simply be an in-stream profile preview.
Have you ever seen a twitter conversation and wished you could see it in all it’s glory rather than clicking “in reply to” over and over and tracking the conversation in reverse? Well now you can! This tool isn’t new, but it’s a goodie and I think it’s well worth sharing with y’all!

This seems to be the weekend for retweet feature releases! I don’t know if this came out this weekend per se, but it’s the first time I’m noticing the new retweet feature being prominently displayed in the stream of my iPhone’s TweetDeck! Pretty freaking awesome. I first noticed it when a tweet showed up in my stream that was not from someone I was following. Then, I realized there was a little yellow retweet sign made famous by twitter’s new project retweet!
Yesterday evening, Facebook has rolled out it’s own version of Twitter’s famous “retweet” button. When you see a shared item that you like in the News Feed and click “share” – rather than the share seeming to come from you, the share now says “Via <name of original sharer>.” This is great because credit is now always going to be given to the original sharer, and you don’t have to @tag the people who you do want to give credit to. Instead, credit will be given automatically.
